Golden Jubilee Tournament
The Institute of Armament
Technology (IAT), Pune, organised the Golden Jubilee Tournament 
from 8 April-1 May
2002. Teams from NDA, CME, ASPT, VRDE, HEMRL, ARDE and R&DE (Engrs) participated in
Volley Ball, Badminton, Kabaddi and Carrom events. The response for the events was
overwhelming and a total of 92 entries were registered for various events. Prize
distribution ceremony coincided with the 50th year of existence of IAT on 2 May
2002.
DRDO South Zone and Inter-Zone Carrom Tournaments
The DRDO South Zone and Inter-Zone Carrom Tournaments were held at the Combat Vehicles Research & Development Establishment (CVRDE), Avadi, during 2-8 May 2002. CVRDE was the winner in South Zone men championship for the 7th year in a row and runner-up in the women team championship. CVRDE was also the winner in the men singles and doubles tournament.
In DRDO Inter-Zone Carrom Tournament, South Zone was the winner in men team championship and West Zone was winner in women team championship. Shri V Bakthavachalu, Tech B and Shri GR Muthukrishnan, TO B, both from CVRDE, were selected for the first two places in all India ranking players.
