This monograph deals with the physics and technology of infrared detectors with special focus on defence applications. New material technologies like MBE, laser ablation, and MOCVD used to fabricate detector structures are also discussed. Special subsystems such as cooling devices, which are an integral part of infrared sensor, are explained.
