HISTORICAL BACKGROUND The Personnel Assessment Centre (PEACE) was established in November 1995 as a self accounting unit of DRDO.It had its origin in December 1994 when a small cell called IMPLEMENTATION CELL was set up in DRDOHQ to formulate the promotion policy for the scientific and technical staff of the organisation under limited flexible complementing system. The Implementation cell played an active roll in formulating the promotion policy for these staff and the policy was notified in SRO 177 with effect from 26 August 1995. Soon on 16 November 1995 the PERSONNEL ASSESSMENT CENTRE (PEACE) came into operation for implementing the operation policy. The Centre conducts assessment boards for promoting eligible scientific and technical staff of DRDO.
ACHIEVEMENT
Comprehensive guidelines on Assessment, Seniority and Recruitment policy under DRTC has been formulated.
Combined seniority roll of the S&T staff in the DRTC cadre, working in all DRDO labs have been prepared by amalgamating large numbers of seniority rolls hither to maintain lab-wise / zone-wise.
Three successive assessment have been conducted for promotion from Technical Officer 'A' to Technical Officer 'B' and over 1300 individuals have been promoted so far.
Similarly, the assessment for promotion for three other categories of employees are being conducted and will be over with in a few weeks. Over 3200 employees of technical staff are being assessed by promotion.
